Dr. Manzoor Khan Afridi
Dr. Manzoor Khan Afridi is a tenured Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Social Sciences, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). He brings to the Pakistan Political Science Consortium a strong blend of academic leadership, policy-oriented research, and international exposure, particularly in the areas of foreign policy and regional security studies.
Academically, Dr. Afridi holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from China and has completed postdoctoral research in the United States. This diverse academic training has enabled him to develop a comparative and globally informed perspective on international politics, with particular emphasis on Asia’s evolving strategic landscape and Pakistan’s foreign relations.
His areas of specialization include Pakistan–China relations, Pakistan’s foreign policy, terrorism studies, issues related to Pakistan’s tribal areas, and China’s foreign policy. His scholarly work critically examines security challenges, counterterrorism dynamics, and the strategic implications of regional and global power shifts, especially in the context of South Asia and China’s rise.
Dr. Afridi’s research interests broadly encompass International Relations, strategic and security studies, and regional diplomacy. Through his teaching, research, and administrative leadership, he has contributed significantly to academic discourse and policy debates in Pakistan.
