Renowned Scholar of Political Theory & Gender Governance Joins the PPSC as a Patron
Dr. Zahid Yaseen
The Pakistan Political Science Consortium is honoured to welcome Dr. Zahid Yaseen as a distinguished patron. Dr. Yaseen is a leading academic administrator and scholar, currently serving as the Chairperson of the Department of Political Science at Government College Women University, Sialkot. In this pioneering role at a women’s university, he is at the forefront of advancing political science education and fostering a new generation of female scholars and analysts in Pakistan.
Dr. Yaseen’s academic portfolio is distinguished by a deep engagement with classical and contemporary political theory, comparative political thought, and the critical study of gender and governance. His research interrogates how theoretical frameworks translate into political structures and social policies, with a particular focus on inclusion and representation. His leadership in a women-centric university underscores a practical commitment to linking academic discourse with the imperative of broadening participation in Pakistan’s political and intellectual spheres.
An active contributor to the national academic community, Dr. Yaseen is frequently involved in curriculum development workshops, national research seminars, and public lectures that bridge theory and societal issues. His work emphasizes the importance of normative political inquiry—asking not just how politics is conducted, but how it should be conducted to create more just and equitable systems, making his perspective vital for holistic political science.
We are thrilled to have Dr. Zahid Yaseen’s esteemed guidance within the PPSC. His unique blend of theoretical expertise, institutional leadership in gender-focused education, and dedication to ethical governance will profoundly enrich our consortium’s intellectual diversity and mission. We look forward to his valuable insights as we collaboratively build a more robust and inclusive discourse in Pakistani political science.
